The first victim of this awful job is the maker of it. Who would buy a Rick in such a condition ?

Hey, check 'The Rick Hall of Shame' at 'The Rickenbacker Page' - you'll be horrified! (I was!)

ok ... this one is truly unreal

we have all seen RIC basses with mods to the bridge ... baddass etc ...

well I was repairing a ric for a friend of mine ... fixing the electronics ... setting the action ... putting on new strings etc ...

Well I got to the bridge and somebody put in a wood and plastic inset ... thats right wood and plastic ...

S**t, modifications like these are vexations to the spirit! I wish they were performed only on the many Rick copies and fakes we come across with much too often these days. That would be a terrific idea!

It might be me but, I "believe the neck pickup is not original" :-)

Judging from the modifications, the guy was probably a Geddy Lee & Billy Sheehan fan. With a little TLC...... & some standard parts. This one could be saved.

Brad, that should read 'sadists'...

I remember seeing this one on Ebay before. Yes, I believe it can be saved. I hope it finds a good home, as you say.
