Bob,
Was playing Katie, and Rose (my v63) last night, Katie's neck is gorgeous. and I'm pleasantly surprised that both pickups are equally strong.

Now, if I can only get a Horseshoe cover for her, she's nakie without it !!!

Is that an original Pickgaurd, the spacing at the tail pickup looks funny !

Isn't the treble surround a little too squared off? I'm not a vintage expert so forgive my stupidity......Image

Are they the early Grover or Kluson tuners Ken? And yes, the pickguard could be a replacement without the fingergrip holes...
Cool bass. $2700??....If the finish is good on the back and everything else is stock then that seems a fair price.

You are so right Jim. It looks nice like the p/g on the C64's. The 72 has some spacing between the guard and the surround plate.

Good point Brian, but the 72 has the same squared edges.

I'll take it! Image

The bass tone knob looks funny too, or is part of the top torn off?

The surround Brian, is consistent with early 70s surround dont forget this is a 71 if it were a 60s you would be right on the money ,now the guard has definitely been changed the tuners are grovers and everything else looks OK.Andy the back is in great shape, could post pics I'm too lazy to downsize them.

Based on recent Ebay sales, price isn't bad. If the tuners were original and it had the pickguard with the thumbrest, I'd grab it.

My apologies, the tuners do look original. I would definately grab it at $2700. You don't see 71's often.
