4004C-II How to care for the bubinga fretboard

Hey Mark,
The fretboard on my bass is unfinished bubinga and it's starting to look a little funky. Do you have any tips for cleaning or otherwise caring for a bubinga fretboard? I appreciate any advice you might have.

I would have to imagine that it was stripped or that you have worn thru the finish .
If there is NO finish at all, then I would clean all the funk off with either 4/0 steel wool or a "Scotch Brite Pad"....a grey or a red will do it.
Then , I use a gun stock finish that I find easy to use and works great on Rick fretboards for people that DO NOT want a finish .
This is similar to what is on 'their' oil finished instruments.
I use BIRCHWOOD-CASEY Gunstock oil.This is a polymerized product and work very quickly .I know of several guitar makers that use it.
Follow the Directions on the container.They also have a website .

I'm familiar with B-C gunstock oil, a friend of mine is a bowyer and uses it to finish the longbows he makes.I also have Scotch Brite pads which I bought to refinish my 4004C-I's oil finish.
From what I can tell, the fretboard is untreated. Thanks for the tips.
