Pyramids on my 4033

This is my first post, so I apologize if this has been covered to death already.
I have a 4003 bass, and I would like to try Pyramid flatwound strings on it. Will I have to adjust the truss rods or intonation if I installed these strings on my bass? Or, can I just put them on and be ready to go?
They seem to be a bit lighter in gauge than the Ric strings that came on it.

THis sounds like the psychic guitar/bass site ?
It is a 50 -50 chance that some kind of adjustment will be necessary.
If you have a set of Roto sound swing bass or a set that is similar , then the rods will need loosening .
How much ? See how to set up a guitar or bass in the search button to the left .

By the way ,,, that is tongue in cheek all the way .
But yes , you may have to do something.

Tim-- Get the Pyramid flatwounds, you won't regret it. Any adjustment that becomes necessary (and it's quite possible you won't have to make any) will be more than worth it. This is the best sounding, quality made flatwound that you can install on a 4003. I speak from experience.

I agree with the last statement, I strung up my 4003 a year and a half ago with a set of Pyramids and that same set is still going strong. I did have my luthier make a truss rod adjustment, but it was well worth it. I participated in a jam session last week and the tone coming from my 4003 was that great, classic RIC tone as it was meant to be heard. Do it!

Thanks Guys! I'm leaning in that direction, but I'm intimidated by the thought of a truss rod adjustment.
Where's the best place to order them?

I got mine from Mike Parks via "The Rickenbacker Page":

I just checked out the site mentioned by 4003 Sea Green, and I noticed 95588 Rickenbacker nylon bass strings listed. Any one tried these? I didn't know they existed. Would these work on a 4003?
Thanks for the tip, but I ended up ordering the Pyramids from juststrings.com.
