New Vintage Series Basses ???

It's been discussed here probably, but by the looks of the Vintage Series Overview Web page of the Ric site, there are no Basses shown ( obviously since the 4001V63 is no longer produced ).

Anything coming up in the near future to replace the V63 ? I know that the C series was not introduced to replace the V series.

I am wondering, like most of us.

John Hall hinted about a v68 being the "most likely" to possibly appear.

I think once again that a V68 reissue would be a dream come true !
Can't wait to her more news about a possible Vintage series Bass.

A v68 dream bass should include the following ...

walnut headwings, slim neck, full width inlays, horseshoe and toaster pickups, checkered binding, lucite finger rest, and it would be really cool with a flamed or quilted laminate to show thru the fireglo!!!

a V68 would just be another cosmetic difference from a regular 4003 with different pickups like a V63 was, how about something different like a 4005? All a V68 would be is a deluxe version of the V63, instead of a RM1999, you'd get an American version, and how can it represent a 68 when some of them had high gains from the factory? Also I wouldn't expect the very thin flat neck at all like the old ones had which is what I expect a lot of you want, besides all the fancy stuff they had.

Because a 4005 is a dream that will never happen and a V68 is a dream that will more than likely not happen. Image It would be a lot easier for them to make, and would sell out. I HIGHLY doubt RIC wants to bring back the 4005 for any reason.

You forgot to mention a '68 4001 would not only have
full width inlay, but Crushed Pearl Full width inlay.

You are probably right, Jacob, but it's cool to think about the small possibility of it.

you know Ric may never get around to doing this v68 thing ... sooo ... I am thinking of taking a 4003 and putting a quilted or flamed laminate on top and then adding checkered binding and then having it refinished fireglo ...
