4005 Wiring

Hi gang,
With the recent arrival of a new Toaster pickup I can finally get my 67 4005 up and running...someone had installed Barts in it and then someone else had replaced the Barts with re-issue toasters...one of the re-issues didn't work properly when I got the bass, and so now I'm ready to go. I really don't think that too much was changed in the Bart mod electric wise (although they did rout the body a little, ARGHHH!!!) Anyway I was hoping that one of you 5 owners could post a closeup picture or drawing of the pickguard wiring so that I can make sure that mine hasn't been re-wired incorrectly. I'm lousy with the schematic diagrams... Much appreciated, Thanks, David Miner

I've got nothing, David, or else I would helo you out. How easy is it to get a pic of the controls on a 4005, must have to take a pickguard off, right?

Thanks anyway Steve...Yes, you have to unscrew the guard... you just pull 6-7 screws and there it is. Dm

Is that a treble-pass cap behind the large labeled capacitor?

I zoomed in and it sure likes like a component. Kinda greenish.

Guys,

I admit not to know much about the 4005’s.

Since I have the picture posted above, what do you see that’s not original for a 1967.

I haven't opened mine in a long time, but I know there should not be "THE CAP"! Mine does not have the fifth control, instead there is a Ric-O-Sound jack in it's place.

Certainly looks like the cap there. The 60's ones are that turquoise colour.
As ever, a picture is worth a thousand worth...

My '65 4005 doesn't have the 5th knob either and has the mono jack too.

Really! Is it factory stock? Mine looks to be stock, with the Ric-o-Sound jack where the fifth knob should be and the normal mono jack in it's usual place.
