I'm starting to get excited about it. Mike Dolan has the bass, it's be stripped and he's put an initial stain on the wings. He had a picture of a CS bass handy(that's the goal, a 4000CS so to speak) and said that it will look the part.
We're looking at 4-6 weeks so, don't expect any pics soon.

Spoke to Dolan's place today. Should be ready middle of next week. If I can't get it put together in time for the Mid Atlantic Confluence, I hope some of you guys can help me put it together there.

Putting a bass together is altogether different. But I vote that we use the parts for door prizes.

Maybe I'll just use my CS as a door stop...
Actually, I think the only thing that would be a problem putting the bass together is that I may need a new nut, and I'm not going to try and carve one.
If i have it by the second week in October, there should be enough time to get it set up before the M.A.R.C.

It better,I re-fined my 4001 and re-wired it in less then a week.Making a new nut from a blank is not that tough.

Twice I've approached luthiers to refin my '68 4000 (it's fg now) and both times they refused. I'm sure glad they did.
