General resistance question
Hi. I'm thinking of installing LEDs in a bass project I'm working on. if I have 13 LEDs with a maximum voltage allowance of 5.5 volts getting power from four 9 volt batteries, what size resistor should I use?

NEVER put LED's in parallel unless you use a dropping resistor with each one (i.e. 13 LED's will require 13 resistors if connected in parallel).
That said, are you wiring the 9v batteries in series (36v)?
The value of the dropping resistors depends on the current your particular LED requires. The maximum voltage spec. is not enough to determine the resistance needed. (And, 5.5v is a max. You won't be driving them at this voltage.)
