OK - here goes, I ready to be laughed at.........but what is a 4001 V68? I'm not a bass player by nature, so please forgive me!

A figment of a few member's imagination, basically a 60's 4001 with a horseshoe. The U.S. version of a V63.

actually several people saw this bass and wanted Ric to do a re-issue of it ...

I'm not sure if the original v68 idea was mine or somebody elses ... but people would go nuts for a re-issue bass with full width inlays, checkered binding and a horseshoe pickup ...

I'll take full credit for the idea, thank you! Image

Actually, as I remember it...there were many forum members who contributed to the idea.

I wouldn't think it would be impossible for RIC to build. They put the full width crushed pearl inlays and checkered binding on this model:

Oh, and for the record...I'm good for at least one(FG). If I like it enough, a Burgundy and/or Jetglo may follow.

Don't forget the walnut wings!

And, oh yeah - one for me please!

Burgundy would be my choice then Fireglo.

And I'd be willing to pay C64 prices for it/them...

He paid a treasure FOR it, he should treasure it. Jeff basically got an "offer he couldn't refuse".
