Pu and cap question

Post by d_funkie »

Hi. I was wondering, do the polepeices on buttontop bass pickups touch the magnet below the pickup. Do they have cores, or are they like a strat? What is the best voltage for a cap?

The steel poelpieces touch the magnet to get the maximum magnetic field ...if they don't you lose in that area .

This is that same type of design as a Gibson Humbucking , Gretsch filtertron , or any non magnetic polepiece pickup .

A Strat/Tele/Jazzmaster/Jaguars and Rick are all pickups that the magnets and the polepieces are the one and the same .

THe voltage on a capacitor is the maximum amount of voltage that it can tolorate before failing .

In a guitar , you don't have any voltage .... not really ...you are speaking in terms of milavolts ... just traces .So a 100volt capacitor is WAY over rated .
It was used as it will "Work" .
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!
