Oops. Sorry I meant Klein. Did he change his name to Pete something or other? Is he still alive? Did he own the rights to ABKCO (or whatever it is, publishing?)

Last piece I saw on Klein he was in ill health. There was little else on him. He was ABKCO, the Allen B. Klein Company. He was President and Director of the Board.

All you need is love,
the love you take is equal to the love you make.
(Cue angelic choir)
Mama Cass+Idi Amin-Michael Jackson+Michael Douglas=Allen Klein
...with a few kilos left over.

When one considers all of the books, all of the videos, and all the rest, that have been put out on the Beatles, and the fact that he was sued by the stones, it's amazing he disappeared so completely (I'm nearly certain I saw photos of him, represented as Pete Bennet, in some ad agency music literature in the 80s.) And the fact that he was a major figure during the most interesting, albeit brief, period of the Beatles career, it's just weird that no one knows what happened to him. And there are so few pictures on the web of him. The chaos at Apple, the battles between Paul and the rest. It's also kind of amazing that his name didn't surface more in the last Lennon interviews, as they were so in depth.

Who cares what happened to Klein. He was a pariah. Paul at least saw through him from the beginning.
It's too bad the Stones and the rest of the Beatles got taken by him. It has had a profound effect on the "lads" ability to re-master and re-issue songs from the period.
It is especially annoying since he gained control of those songs through deception and outright lies.

Hmmm...well, I don't think Paul's solution was all that much better. He and his mates could have just as easily been taken by his then brand new Father In-Law, who I believe had no show business management experience at the time (and that could have been handy for the person in charge of running the biggest act around.) What is the saying? Never go into business with your family? Clearly, they were all clueless about business at that time. Paul was learning by then, but he clearly learned a lot more later. And bad as Klein was, it was their decision to start Apple that did them in.
