Place to buy Ric 4001 electronics?

Im in the process of restoring and old Ric 4001 I've managed to get ahold of.
It not in too bad a nick, Theres the obvious paint damage that you get on alot of used bass, Thank full its mostly on the back of the bass (due to belt buckle) and the headstock, which Im not too bothered about an Im quite happy to leave without a paintjob.

However, Upon looking at the electronics they appear to have been changed from the originals, although they are rather old.
The reason I suspect change is that there is only the standard input and there is no stereo input whatsoever.

So anyone know where I can buy a new set of electronics (with both inputs) for a Ric 4001?

Or possible provide a wiring diagram / pictures so I could possibly add the stero jack without replacing everything.

Thanks in advance!

Does this old 4001 have binding? If not, it might be a 4001-s and have only the mono output.

If you can, post some pictures, I'm sure you'll get a very detailed explanation... Image

Ed's correct Scott. It may have always been mono. Does the neck have a dot inlay or the triangle markers?

It has binding and triangle inlays.
I'll try and get some pictures up soon.

There IS a space missing where a stereo input should go.

Checked out the Ric site, Just to confirm, Is this: http://www.rickenbacker.com/cart.asp?viewitem=00211&category=viewitem the item I'd need to buy (along with the pots etc)

Thanks.
Just checked out the Ric site, Seems they only ship to America/Canada.

Anywhere that ships to England I could get the Double Input?

I got a complete prewired set of pots From Mike Parks a couple of times and restored a '73 4001 and a '76 4001 ... they both had some hacked up wiring setup in there ... but when I restored them they both sounded great ...

if Ric won't ship to the UK try Mike Parks ... and if he can't then get a forum member to be a middle man or try a UK Ric dealer ...

Mike Parks runs an on-line dealership, called both "The Music Connection" and "The Rickenbacker Page." Access:

www.the-music-connection.com

Great to deal with (although I've never bought anything from him -- yet -- but he has sent me a load of photos that could be used in my book.
