Tachistoscopic Rickenbacker Presentations

How often have you seen a Rickenbacker on VH1 or other broadcast in which you get to see the instrument for a millisecond at best? Was it a 12 string or were those triangle fret markers? I am wondering what tips you might offer others in the identifcation of Rickenbacker models during these "almost subliminal" presentations.

This happened to me last night! I saw "Jimmy Eats World" with a 360 FG, but couldn't tell if it was a 6 or 12. I think it had high gains. Anyway, very frustrating.

I've seen Alan Jackson's "Mercury Blues" and noted the triangle fret markers of a RIC, but was unable to see anything else. One of the few country videos I've seen that featured a RIC.
Usually have VH-1 Classic or VH-1 Country on as background noise whenever I'm working out of my home office. Have noticed a number of RICs on VH-1 Classic.

I find that if it's a case of a new video, I will catch it enough times just from channel surfing that I will be able to figure out what model of Ric it is.
Did anyone else notice that both the bass players from The Strokes and The Hives play Jetglo Rics? This new trend of "retro garage rock" that the music industry is pimping looks more and more packaged every day. Just another Seattle to bleed dry, I guess.
