I think I was paying as you were posting. Funny thing was, he didn't want cash. Only accepted Paypal and it had to be by credit card.

The only thing that concerns me is that he didn't mention anything about condition, and I heard the early ones had problems, especially with the finish.

I would have asked the seller a question about it, but by then it's would have been gone.Gotta keep my fingers crossed

Congrats Marc...I had the same reservations. He had 100% feedback so, usually that's a good indication that it's going to be a good deal. I almost pulled the trigger. Hopefully everything works out!!!!

I'm always a little nervous. Not sure If we've seen #30 up for sale before. I have seen cut and pasted auction before using another member's ID.

The only thing I'm thinking is that something with Katrina touched him personally and he felt he needed to do this.

When I get the bass, I'll make another donation. I've given to the Red Cross and an agency called "Noah's Wish" which assists the animals hurt by the disaster.

I just re-read his description and I think he's legit...maybe he knows someone or has family who has been ravaged by Katrina and wants to make a sizable donation.

On a side note, I didn't even think about all of the wildlife and personal pets..etc that were killed in all of this. That's a great agency that you support, Marc. I'm going to make a donation to "Noah's Wish" myself. Thanks.

Getting back to the thread...Out of curiousity, I looked up the CS's that were registered.

http://www.rickresource.com/rrp/chrissquire.html

Number 6 and number 45 are there but, 6 has a higher number than 45. It would make sense(I guess) that number 30 is in between.

For once on a quick decision, I may have done something right. Plus it inspired me to give more to charity.

Marc and Scott, that's sounds like a great thing you did regarding the charity. I think it's fair to say Marc that you deserve to have had good luck with this when supporting such worthy causes. All the best.

Marc, congratulations on the CS, and the charitable help.

I owned 6 CS basses and the older ones are defiantly better.
