What's up with a Rick-O-Sound Box?

Hi,
I am new to the forum. Is there anything special about a Rick-O-Sound Box? I used a Y cable with a stereo male and 2 mono female jacks on it and was able to split the pickups. Just wondering

That's exactly what I use, too. Cost me about $1.99 at the store. Seems to work just fine!
Tip: Send one of the signals into a distortion box (or dirty amp) and the other into a clean bass amp, for the most ferocious lead bass tone on earth ...

I've used these (the short Y splitter), and at the present I've got a 20' cable that's got the stereo plug at one end and it splits into two mono cables/plugs about halfway. Eliminates having so much wiring hanging directly off you and seems to work fine...no "loss of treble.." etc. as Ric literature warns.
I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has opened the ROS box...is there anything in there besides a splice?

No big secrets hiding inside a Rick-O-Sound box
at all. Just all the wires soldered together.

???Uhhh, Because they can?.....See, ya shoulda bought one back in 1970 like I did,when they were $25......
Then again, I could have gotten it cheaper if I'd gone through a dealer instead of buying it at the sales office in Santa Ana.On the other hand, so what; I got a nice tour of and spent a long afternoon gawking and schmoozing in the old showroom there, which was really a trip...
