Have these gone back into production yet? Just curious what mods they are making and when to expect these in the market again.

Thanks,
Paul

I wouldn't mind a third one in Jetglo or even possibly trans blue. Since I've seen Erik Kutzler's trans blue 4004Cii at the SoCal confluence, I've been in love with that finish. I never thought I'd like a blue finish so much.

I'd love to own one of these, especially after playing both of Joey's. I'm hoping a shop ordered a Montezuma or a Blue Boy that will be fulfilled once they're in production again.

By the by Joey, did you get my email? I remember reading in another thread that you may have had email woes.

Erik, I did not get your email. For some reason my email was being routed to an email address that will not work. I've managed to fix the problem so that doesn't happen anymore, but I still can't retrieve any email that was sent to the email address (@joeysbassnotes.com), so please send your email again to the address in my profile.

Over on the RIC forum, John Hall has said that they're currently improving the model and we may see production again in the (relatively) near future. One of the mods will be a new wider pickup design. This is great news as the only thing that was holding me back from ordering a 4004cii/5 was a concern over the pickup width. I have a Blueburst 4004cii on order so I think I'll wait to see what next years colour of the year will be before placing an order for a 5 string.

Yeah, the quilted tops were georgeous! Anyone know if walnut wings are back as standard on the 4004cii 4 and 5 strings? It seemed like they were gone for a while.

If Ric ever made the Cii/5 in a quilted natural, I'd put down my deposit tomorrow!

This is a 2005 4004cii found it within the last few months, forget where I got the photo. I believe they made a few maple/walnut headstocks again this year.

The quilted was definitely the most stunning 4004 they made!

All of the Cii models have charactered Maple tops. Obviously, being natural product, every one is different and some look nicer than others.

The 5 stringer is not back in production yet but should be shortly.

All Cii's are now coming with Walnut head wings, due to popular demand, even though I personally think it doesn't look right with the tranny colors. Also, the bass position pickup is now back at the base of the neck- again by popular demand, slappers out of luck. (The German music magazine "Die Fachblatt" refers to bass slapping as "planken spanken"!)

Thank you, John. You just guaranteed more business from me once production resumes. I'll take one in Natural.

I am glad that the bass pickup was moved back to the base of the neck. It's a better look IMO.

I will also be on board for a new Cii/5 once production resumes Image.

Planken Spanken! You've got to love it! Leave it up to my German friends!

This is great news John - thanks for the update! I know my TR 5 was sitting in line right behind Joey's...

The pup up against the neck won't interfere with my planken spanken technique! Image
