I know too little here.

Is that a Rose Morris? an S type?

I'm not in, have no fear, I've spent quite enough lately.

Just looking at it.....

Well, the tuners and bridge (with the extra holes)are not stock, the white nut ditto and the upper horn looks like it's been sanded a la Macca.
I'd like to see the p/up surround and bobbin closer. An original Feb 68 should have had a horseshoe and the bobbin should look like this

with the screw polepieces. It's hard to tell with that photo.

I would ask for pot codes on this bass and to see the wiring harness. It almost looks like someone has tricked out a V with an added thumbrest and jackplate...

No,It does [as Andy mentioned]look like a tricked out v63 white nut, tuner bushings are like v63,v63 tailpiece,..

Ask to see close ups of the toaster,a 60s toester has little circles in the corners of the black plastic, closeup of the headstock, truss rods would be a dead giveaway.Ask him to take of the guard or you wont bid .

I totally agree with you, Ken - something about that '68' is not quite right. And isn't the lettering on every TRC supposed to be centered?

Sergio, good call i didn't see that Yes,they were centered because the made in the USA was to the right side of the trc.[It would be too noticable otherwise]Its a v in my opinion

Andrew ,, obviously it's not Fireglo, another reason to retract the bid.

I don't think it looks right either. Looks like a V63 with a '68 jackplate. Too many non original parts otherwise. F.C. would never have let it leave the factory with the bridge pickup screwed on that crooked.

Thank you my freakishly observant friends.

However, do you think it’s still worth $1200.00?

I think I will let my bid stand.

Waiting to hear back now from the seller.
