Can I convert a Maple Glo Ric 4001 to a black Ric 4001?
Is that possible or will cost that a lot of money?
I would like to buy a Ric, and someone offered me a Mapleglo but i really don't like that "color".
Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard...I would just wait and find one in Jetglo. Even a professional refinish will devalue the bass. Rather than pay for both(the bass and refin), just be patient. You might even find a forum member looking to move a Jetglo 4001 or 4003 for a reasonable price.

Well, you certainly could, but Jetglo ones are not at all hard to find. What do you mean by "offered"? Is someone giving it to you, or it's available for purchase? If you're getting it free or inexpensively, go for it, then look around for a Jetglo one later. Patience will reward you with what you seek.
Refinishing could cost you several hundred dollars, and if a bass is in good condition (including the finish), you'll just be wasting money (ask me how I know). I would only refinish if the original finish is trashed.

What Marc said. Don't ruin a perfectly good guitar. Wait and find one in the color you like or if you already have it.....swap with someone.

Nice job Dave, assuming it would cost around $400 to refinsh, unless the bass was $300 it wouldn't be worth it, even so, you'd still have a refined bass which only has about 1/2 the value.
