Can you guys recommend a deodorant that actually stops the sweat?
I've got Gillet PowerStripe but it doesn't seem to do the trick...
I always sweat a lot and it sucks, my condition probably doesn't qualify as hyperhidrosis but eitherway I'd like to get rid of it.
Anyone with similar problems has any suggestions?
Oh, by the way, the sweating doesn't result from exercise or anything. I can just be sitting around doing absolutely nothing... That's what's frustrating about it.

Just remember you're supposed to sweat. However if it's profuse, you may consider asking your physician about it. But if you're just looking for an industrial-strength anti-perspirant, try Mitchum.
The only trouble I've had is that products seem to lose their effectiveness after 2 or 3 months forcing me to switch brands. Silly body chemistry.

wow... talk about an "Others" thread!
But seriously, this can be a problem. I worked with a guy once who had a similar thing. His problem was compounded by the fact that his sweat really stunk. Sometimes just walking into his office was an olfactory out-of-this-world experience.
I dont know all the details, but he went to California for some sort of treatment.... might even have been a surgery of some kind. The result was pretty amazing. He turned into a normal person.

I think he must have done either the subcutaneous sweat gland curettage or the transthoracic sympathectomy. Whatever it was, it really did work wonders.
Actually, the lead guitarist in my band sweats alot during a gig.... so much so that he changes t-shirts after each set. But thats ok, he makes up for it by playing "Black Magic Woman" as well as Santana himself.... maybe even better.

Many people go to California stinking, and come out smelling like a rose...

I just fell off the couch laughing. Not at the sweat problem but Paul's impromptu version of Black Magic Woman. Too funny.

Certain-Dri is the answer.
I have hyperhydrosis & would go through 2-3 shirts a day. Ruined some of my best t-shirts too!
This stuff is a miracle, you HAVE to follow the directions to the letter, but it is as the kids say, the shizzle...

Thanks for all the info guys!
Like I said it's not like it's so bad. But it can get really annoying.
I'll check out that product Chris and I'll try that deodorant Noel.
I just hate it when I jam with my Ric because the top gets quite alot of sweat from my arm which is kinda gross... Tho ScratchX takes care of it.

Great minds, JJ...I did a year-and-a-half stint in the mid-nineties at the drafting supplies counter at a local art store...I was in charge of, among other things, the Magic Markers, the 'phat' black ones of which I would have to keep behind the counter and ask for proof of age when someone wanted some...I would frequently have to tell young Chicano kids that they would have to get their eighteen-year-old cousin to come in and buy it for them. I frequently found myself singing various permutations of Black Magic Marker in my mind's karaoke machine.
Back on thread...Speaking of sweating on stage, Happy Eightieth Birthday, B.B. King!
