What if the seller would put a Rickenbacker nameplate on it? How would it be possible to see that it's a copy?

Lots of details are wrong, like the bridge pickup surround, the dots by the controls, the tuners, the bridge, etc.

Say what you will about copies and such, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Univox guitars for some reason.

Anthony, I had a great Univox Hi-Flyer Mosrite Copy. I loved it so much that I smashed it to bits on stage.

I always though the Univox copy of the 4001 looked and sounded closest to the real thing, more than any other copy. It's amazing at the prices that even these will go for now!
John, I also had a Univox Hi-Flyer, it was my first bass guitar that I got in '75. I sold it to a bass student of mine in the Bronx, a long time ago.

I actually owned the "Fireglo" version of this very bass. The strings were about 1/2" off the board, no joke. After trying in vain to try and tweak it, I traded it for some Gibson something or other...

I always look and if it has a "Vox-o-sound" jack then I know it is a copy!

I think Univoxes most hold the record for "most smashed" guitars. Really, I've never played this version but it looks like a decent job, neck-through, 5-ply neck, etc. etc....

I also had a Hi-Flyer as my first bass. I wasn't a very good instrument, but they are, inexplicably, quite popular now.
IIRC, there were at least two versions, both dual pickup models. One sported single coil pickups adn the other humbuckers. I had the latter.
I also had one of the Univox Rickefakers, just like one in this thread. The prior owner put Ric Hi-Gains into it. It sounded quite Ric-like.
In the end, however, it wasn't the real thing.

I had a Univox Mosrite copy guitar.. it was kind of cool in a cheesy way. I gave it to a friend of mine. I also had a Univox copy of a Dan Armstrong See-Thru bass, which was cool, except it had the thinnest sounding pickups ever made... no low end at all. And I had a Univox copy of a Mutron... aptly named the Unitron!
