What's the story here? Was there a cut-off for this? And which came first? I'm confused.

Judging by the recently-discontinued 360V64, I believe there was dual mono before Rick-O-Sound was introduced.

Weird...you'd think that the late-'50s stereo craze would have been in full swing on the Capri series, etc. Also, dual mono doesn't really DO anything, what would've been the purpose of it?

Since I will be receiving my 1st Rick w/ Rick-O-Sound sometime this fall, I'm wondering what types of set-ups people have used it with. Right now I only have a Vox Cambridge 15 and a JC-77.

Sounds like there are some possibilities with that set-up, but I don't know. I didn't order the kit yet, so I'd like to hear some feedback (not from my amp!) first. I don't want to throw money away. Well, maybe I do!

Mr. Phelps: Why not get a stereo splitter cable at Radio Shack for under $10 and give it a whirl. It is an inexpensive way to see if you like the effect.

Peter, I had heard that some players have done that. I will try that method. I wonder why RIC charges so much for theirs? More cable/high quality? Name recognition? Just want to make sure all the required parts are there. Otherwise if I like it, I won't even bother upgrading to the "official" device.

I don't think you really need the ROS box. All it does is the same thing as a Y cable. That's what I use on my 4001, and it does NOT affect the tone of the instrument in any way, shape, or form as it states in the RIC booklet. Just buy one of those, and you're set.

I love Ric-O-Sound! I just use the splitter... or insert cable. But what is a Ric-O-Casek?

Fine. It's been decided. When my stereo Rick comes I will go to Radio Shack and get the Y cable. Now, can anyone expedite my Rick to Rhoads so I can get on with my life?
