Questions on the 370/12 SPC (RM overruns):
- Did they have the square heel?
- Did they have the 12-saddle bridge?
- Did they have the vintage tuners?
- Did the come in JG & FG only? Or MG too?

My 370/12 SPC has a 1996 serial number but looks like it was finished in the early 90s. It has a square heel but came with a 6 saddle bridge. It has vintage tuners and nameplate but came to me in a RIC/SKB case. I have seen only one in Mapleglo. It was posted here some time ago by a member but I believe most were FG or JG.

Hubba hubba, would look even better with vintage knobs and a trapeze !

Kevin: As always, a gorgeous photo. This is certainly a guitar with a twinkle in its eye and a bounce in its step, I am sure.

John, for whatever it's worth, mine has a square heel, check binding, and slimmer neck profile. I added a 12-saddle bridge. Tuners are the regular Schallers. #F3 7390.
The only overruns I'm aware of are JG & FG.

How common are these guitars?

I want one.

Kevin: wow nice. It looks like it has foam under the pickguards and the new style strap pegs?

Another question: is there a way to ID a RM body? Was there anything special about the body that would give it away as a RM or overrun?

Yet another question: Does the warranty card say 'SPC'?

Does anyone have info on other 370/12 21-frets that may have been made?

I have a '94 370/12 MG that I'm trying to learn about... I'm wondering if it was a 'overrun' RM body, or just a wierd one made...

I would guess that any 21-fret, 370-12, with square heel and check binding made in the early 90's would qualify as an RM "overrun". My guitar was purchased used, but I don't think the warranty said "SPC"... the seller would have mentioned it.

I believe a limited run of 21-fret, 370-12V65 (66?) guitars were made for the Japanese market just a few years ago. Maybe Bob Belloff could help us here with some more precise info.

John, thanks and you are correct about the pickup foam and the strap pegs. I bought mine "used" and the warranty card was gone so I do not know what it says. The headstock shape is the same as my two "McGuinn" models and my 1990 360/12V64. This is slightly different from the other 370/12 models I have seen from the mid-late 90s.

Kevin, sorry to be so vague. I was thinking that this instrument's stunning appearance exudes a sweet tonality and excites the senses even before it is played.

Peter even gets a bounce in his step everytime he picks up one of his Ricks!
