Hey all, I know it's probably been asked before, but what are some of the major differences between the v63 and 64? Pickups? Neck? Also, what are the differences between the 4001 V63 and the V 63PMC model?

The c64 is a better copy minus the headstock and pickup surround the c is more accurate in dimension also white not pearly dot neck markers....On the C I wish they would correct the trc it looks goofy cause the lettering curves at the wrong end.PMs didn't look like that.If they corrected the trc it would blend in better therefore the headstock would not look awkward, thats why PMs doesn't look awkward.

The PMC has the reverse headstock like PMs ,the regular lefty v63 does not.

Neck on the C64 is slim and not as chunky as most V63's. Also the horseshoe is not as loud as the V's. Overall, the C is more accurate in looks and probably in sound when compared to an original 60's example. I love 'em both!

Ken, how do you mean it curves at the wrong end? On right hand instruments, the capital R starts at the nut, and on left handed it starts at the tip end of the TRC, like McCartney's. The right-handed C64 is basically a mirror image, except for the logo starting at the opposite end, or else it would have to be backwards printing.

Here's my 4001SLH, it has the smiley face. My lack of understanding is in your saying that McCartney's didn't have it.
Didn't it?

I still don't. As for degree of curves, they seem to be about the same to me.

How about now!You don't want the same curve you want the opposite. The "Ricken"curves on his along with the trc The "Ricken" on the C64 curves on the bottom,They used the left hand riting and just flipped it around, making it look goofy.Look at the lower cae "r"on his,its in line with the nut in the middle of trc.Look at the upper case"R" on the C64 its not in line with the nut its curved it should be more straight along with the rest of the lettering.

So, the Ric part of the writing needs to be lower on the trc, to soften the angle. I get it now. In actuality, though, I think it is a pretty darned good representation and, to me, the angle isn't troublesome at all.

Plus, McCartney's trc isn't the original anyway---wasn't it replaced years ago at the Ric factory? His was the 2nd lefty made, and there are scant few pictures of it in its original state, so in my estimation, Ric did good on the C64.
