LONDON (AP) - A set of Beatles lyrics handwritten by John Lennon on the back of a phone bill failed to sell at auction Wednesday.

The 17-line draft of "I'm Only Sleeping" had been expected to sell for at least $350,000, but failed to reach its reserve price at Christie's auction house. The song was featured on the band's 1966 album, "Revolver."

Plus, DeLay was indicted, too.
Was that political? Well, a crook's a crook, politics notwithstanding.

What a happy, happy day! It makes me want to sing my Protestant Work Ethic Song (all rights reserved):

"Wake up, you stupid s***head,
Put on a f***in' tie,
Jump in the g*****n squirrel-cage,
And work 'til the day you die...
And spread bulls**t all over the place,
And put on a happy face!"

plink...plink..plink....Bwahhhh

Try it during your next commute...it works!

Yes every once in a while the world turns as it should. Almost makes me a believer in humanity when that happens.

Dane send me the chords. We can make a hit out of that one.

Great lyrics, but I don't get g*****n! Call me thick if you like, but it's early morning here and I've got a dose of the blurs!!

Just don't get yourself kicked off the forum explaining it!!

But can we see the phone bill on the other side? That sounds equally fascinating within this context...a clue to the deeply melancholic lyrics might be found in the phone number of, say, a pawn shop or a known bookie...

Dane,

I believe that he had been involved in filming "How I Won the War" during this time so it is likely that he was somewhat conflicted as a result. Still it would be fun to see who he was calling.

Indeed...I love that movie. He would have been calling Keef on occasion, I suppose. Evidence of one of those calls would be hilarious.

"I went down to the Chelsea Drugstore..."

Perhaps he called Dr. Robert!
