Subud and McGuinn?

I was wondering if anybody knew anything regarding how the religion Subud affected Roger McGuinn's personal life. I mean, I know it influenced him enough to change his name for a while, but is there more to it than that? What did the other Byrds think of this at the time? Did McGuinn leave Subud? What does he think about it all now?
