I've been playing for a lot of years but this is a new one for me.

In the last few days, when I play my Ric unplugged and play the E string on the 6th, 7th, and 8th frets the string buzzes between the fretted note and the headstock end.

Anyone else seen this?.

Yes. I'm no Guinness (mis-spelling intended), but I find that my Ricks do that when the truss rods are too tight(modern truss system) and the neck is back bowed. Its not a big deal though as it doesn't come through the amp.

Loosen your truss rods slightly... you have a slight back bow.

Thanks guys, a quarter turn sorted the problem. I've honestly never seen this before, but, then again i've never had a neck set up so straight either.
