I have an opportunity to purchase a 1966 Vox Cambridge Reverb. I believe it to be 45 watts. Has anyone here had any experience with this amp, both positive and negative? This particular amp is in excellent condition and I should be able to pick it up for about $400.00. Again, is this a fair price? Thanks in advance!

Haven't used it personally, but I've heard of it. For $400, I would definately take it if I knew it was in good shape. Personally, I think you could re-sell it for more. Thats my opinion.

The Vox Cambridge is conservatively rated at 18 watts RMS output. The 45 watt rating is it's nominal power consumption. If it's in good shape and all original, it's well worth $400. They were made available in both solidstate and tube versions. I had a solidstate one that I plugged into a 4-12 cabinet. It kicked some savage butt!
