I can't believe it's October 5th and we're in the middle of a blizzard here. We have about 10" on the ground and expect another 6-8 tonight!!! California dreaming....Image

Scott, I spent a winter there some years ago, 20 miles from the CA border. With the furnace going full blast all night long, the old house managed 58 degrees F.

It's 75 here in SF and around 80 at my house, ten miles north. I've been driving my convertible with the top down since July.
Sorry, don't mean to rub it in...you're welcome here anytime!

Still well in the 90's with the heat index here, with no sign of cooling yet.

I've been driving my convertible with the top up, to avoid the heat since May...

Wow, luckily I have a free house, courtesy of the Air Force and have central heat. Not a problem.

I have a brother in Sacramento, I might just pay him a visit...haha. Believe me, he's rubbing it in.

Wints, the Bay Area (sans Sacto) is the best convertible weather in the USa, I think.

I lived in SoCal for 24 years and always had a convertible in the garage, but could only really cruise top down in the evening, due to hot sun.

Re: Weather--Sacto is like Anaheim.

Sorry for the foul weather so early...it's sunny and 80 here. Like Paul though, I spent some harsh winters in the Sierra Nevada of Calif. and no matter how much cedar I burned in the fireplace or heating oil I used to heat the house, it never really did....so stay warm, play a Rick or two!

In Teignmouth, we had a only a handful of frosts last winter & all but one of those was gone by the time I got up! Keep warm Scott...don't let those typing fingers freeze!

We got those fun Santa Ana winds blowing through SoCal right now.

96 degrees and 10% humidity...

Without a doubt the nastiest time of the year for us. Is that wood I hear cracking?

It was a nice sunny fall day here. 60 degrees F. This is a welcome change from 90 degree plus weather we get here all summer.

Winter will arrive soon for us. We usually get a light dusting of snow by the end of December.

We're close to the middle of spring and it's starting to 'de-chill' - days up to 25c. Give it a couple more months and we'll be in high 20s to mid 30s (I hope!!)

Good one Ben, just to be safe, you'd better check that pallet of 4002's.

"We got those fun Santa Ana winds blowing through SoCal right now".

I'd like to know what bonehead decided to name winds that are less than pleasant after a saint.

I don't know but these damn winds leave a trail of destruction every October with the wildfires they fan.

And the maple they can crack!! 10% RH. Yikes!

We are having an odd fall here in Montreal. It has been sunny, and 79F/65%RH here for the last couple of weeks. Usually we are about 45-50F and pouring rain.

Snow in October... yuch.
