Got to be honest, I nearly went for this one. I need a fitted case for an old 4001, and it would have been fun to have sorted the setup on this one and sold it on Ebay again. Too many other things going on in my life at the moment.

My, what a strange-looking 4001 copy. As we say in my country (Portugal, Europe), 'it is neither meat nor fish', meaning it is neither an exact 4001 copy nor a Fender/Gibson copy.

I thought it was a 4002 at a glance.

I think the bridge needs to be pushed back a little farther... Image

It actually resembles a John Birch, although it isn't. A friend of mine has one of those; wierd but interesting.

Actually, I wouldn't mind having a copy like that, because then I could have a Bartolini P/J bass and not feel guilty about gutting a real Ric to do it.

OK, I know you guys are taking the p**s but I really could have done with the case & at 150 UKP I bet I could have made a small profit out of it, and it might just have been an interesting bass, kind of Ric meets Fender meets Gibson T/bird.

Ok.... it would have been totally **** !!!!

Speaking of tempting faker basses, this Shaftsbury 330 copy bass looked kind of interesting to me...
