I saw an old video of the Bee Gees last nite. They couldn't have been much more than 19. The bass player was playing an early 60's 4001s (1990.) Excellent looking bass.

What's the story of that thing? Did you get it like that, resto it, or - gasp- strip it yourself?

I bought it like that nearly 25 years ago Scott.
It's been exactly like that since the 60's when Maurice had it...
Sorry...Couldn't resist!

Actually Bob...Do you know of a Pete Greenwood in your area. He used to live in Altrincham, and was the one but previous owner of the bass.
He did have very early, possible prototype CS bass when I last spoke to him in 2002.

Pete used to post here a good bit about 4-5 years ago, haven't heard much of him since then. When Andy first started posting on the Forum Pete was still around and said he had owned the white RM1999 previously. Remember those days Andy?

Seems longer than that, many posts and Ricks have been acquired since then!

It DOES seem a long time ago John. Not that many people posting here back then.
I can still remember finding the forum and hardly leaving my computer for a week!
Then Pete posts with that info that he used to own a White RM with the same serial number...
