Hey all, I am enjoying my 360JG very much these days, I put 12's on it, and I like the sound better than with the stock strings. Also, JG is easily my favorite Rickenbacker color, if you have never seen it in person, you are missing out!

Anyway, I hear some strange rattling when I play it unplugged. It wasn't there before. I don't think I hear it plugged in, but it bothers me. It was flawless before. I checked every screw and knob, and can't find anything that is obviously loose. Any similar experiences? I am wondering if it something inside the guitar, heaven forbid. I am quite frustrated by this ...

And where in the body / neck is the rattling located?

What could possibly be inside the body? Unless something came loose from the circuitry, but I think you would really notice something like this, like when it was plugged in.
I doubt RIC is like GM, where assembly folks used to stick coke bottles inside the door panels just to drive people nuts.

Loose pick inside the guitar? I've had that happen thanks to some helpful kids.

Bridge screws. Check them again-the four that you set for bridge height.

OK, I pushed on some stuff, not tightening anything, and it went away. Hmmm .... I suspect it will be back.

Creepy!! If it comes back try excorsism. LOL

I think Paul is right. It was probably the bridge. If not make sure your tuners are done up nice and snug but not over tight.

I just lowered the bridge on my 320 Red and found that the springs on the bridge height adjusters are now not stretched out enough and are causing a little rattle. I will need to take them out, stretch them, then reinstall them. Another source of rattle in my experience can be the bridge saddle springs, which, like the height adjuster sorings, can be overly compressed and fail to make contact with the surrounding pieces-parts when the saddle is moved to an extreme position.
