Custom Doublebeck id Back!
I just picked it up from the refinisher Friday and spent several hours re-assembling it. This week it goes off to Mike Lippe to have the 26 1/2" guitar neck refretted and set up with Ricky 10's. I'm working on the bass nut now and still have to custom file the bridge saddles on the bass bridge to my specs but here it is.....

Thanks Gary! You'll probably remember the instrument from the confluence. Besides the refin, I moved the "B","A"and "D" tuners on the bass headstock for a better balanced look. Jeffrey, I put the bass on top since it is my primary instrument and it would be less fatiguing to play at that heigth. I seriously thought about puting the guitar on top like Michael Rutherford but I'm only fair as a rhythm guitarist and it wouldn't have been as practical. It's a bit heavy although probably not any more so than a 4080 but it's solid and unlike the 4080, the necks are not "pocket necks" but bolted to a heal with six screws each on a thicker body. I think the 4080's were weak in this area and seem very fragile to me. When I started this I was in a power trio and was expecting to take over additional guitar duties. The band has since split. If I show up to an audution with this I'll probably scare everyone.
