Well, the slow season is starting so I don't feel bad posting a gig, and I thought it was worth it 'cause there will be plenty of Rics at this one.
The Eggmen
Nutty Brown Cafe
Austin,Texas
Friday, Oct. 21st.
7-Midnight
Opening the show will be Rutles tribute band
OUCH!
It's a big, beautiful outdoor venue. Pull up a table under a mesquite tree, and have a drink and a chicken fried steak.

Ronn... I see you in "OUCH", but not in the Eggmen. Whats the story there?

Brammy: He's Nigel, and the Walrus was Paul.

You got it. In the early days of the Eggs, two of the guys in the band, and our soundman were all named John. Very confusing. At a particularly drunken gig we started calling each other by fake, British-sounding names and they stuck. Not too many Nigels or Basils in Texas.

Does the average audience member "get" the Rutles thing?
Because it is very Beatles nerdy (which means I do get it).

No but they do enjoy the songs, even tho' most aren't familiar with them. The Rutles thing is mainly for us to tell you the truth, it is a whole lot of fun.

Ronn...as the janitor (Bo Diddley) told Spinal Tap when they asked him for directions to the stage...
"You look 'arthurized'..."

Woah!... a stealth VOX! (and here comes the dumb question...) Why not just get a VOX? I guess VOX doesn't make a bass amp, eh?
I have a Roland JC-60 as the solid-state backup for my VOX AC-15. The Roland is a good amp but just doesn't get that sweet tone that the VOX has.
