Don Butler at Wolf Trap

Last night my wife and I went to see "A Day in His Life: The John Lennon Anthology Concert" starring Tim Piper. Don Butler, our good friend from the Forum, played lead guitar and was sensational. How he gets all those sounds out of a single Les Paul is beyond me, but Don's performance was terrific.
In fact, the entire show is great. Tim Piper's narrative is actually quite inspired, and the music is spot on. Tribute shows are tricky things to get right—they can easily devolve into parody if mishandled. But this one really captures the feel of John Lennon and his music. I highly recommend seeing it if it comes to your neck of the woods.
