Maybe it takes an Englishman, a photographer, and someone who was (just about) around in the 60’s to appreciate that carpet.
I can tick all boxes in the above.
I think it’s SHAGEDELIC BABY

I like the carpet too. I noticed it the last time this '73 was on eBay.
The bass is also nice.

Bob...a lot of us were 'just about' around in the 60's...even some of us who were born in the 50's...

Dane, I was born in the 50's so I understand what you are saying! It was the early 70's that things are a bit hazy now...
I met up with a drummer that I did a lot of gigs in the UK with my band Mantiss.
He just about remembered me, but certain 'high points' like a full on fist fight with Shaking Stevens, his band and roadies up against Mantiss and our roadies just before we got on stage is a forgotten blur to him...!

Check all of the above for me also.
That would have been a very cool carpet in the late 60's. Given my taste back then I probably would have considered it for one of our rooms.
However, fast forward to today..........I am sure my wife would have more than a few words with me if I were to bring that home.

What a soothing anesthetic the passing of time can be...that and some other things.

too bad about the buckle rash on the back. Nice bass aside from that.

Oh that bass is sweet... too bad about the buckle rash. I love Jetglo! Interesting... it has checkerboard but no split bridge. Ah, those transitional basses...

This must be a June, July or August 73 4001. It's missing full width MOP inlays as well as the split tailpiece.
The TRC looks a bit suspicious. It doesn't say "Model 4001". Just "Made in the USA". Every 73 that i've ever seen has "Model 4001" on the TRC.
Too bad about the excessive buckle rash on the back.
