Hey!
I just bought a 650D and see it has the Schaller straplock buttons installed...can I buy just the lock that attaches to the strap or must I buy the entire set, including new buttons?
If so where? All I see online are the complete sets.
Thanks!

Mark

I've only ever found the complete sets - they're also marketed under the Fender brand name, so that at least gives you some choice. I used the extra buttons on another guitar.

Mark: I am with Dave on this one. I have never seen new incomplete sets for sale. You can probably sell or trade the buttons to someone else here without too much problem.

Stemac sells them separately:

Dean: Very nice work. I should have known Stew-Mac would have considered this.

Just be careful, as they sell everything separately. If you order the strap section you need to order the washers and retaining nuts as well (they don't come with the strap section).

Would the Rick buttons be compatible with ANY straplock system, or would I have to get a Schaller straplock system only?

Schaller only, as far as I know.....

Yeah, Schallers only. The Dunlop system uses an entirely different design.

Having just purchased a new 360/6FG, i was happily surprised to find the Schaller straplock buttons on it.(My previous Ric,and first, had standard strap lugs) I'd fitted this system to a favorite strap and now i can interchange it on all of my guitars. These schaller systems aren't cheap either down here in "OZ",so a welcome addition!
