This is John Williams old 4005 I believe. Apart from his Blueboy it's the best colour (imo) I have seen on the 4005. If you want one, this is it.
Go find another....
Things are not as strong in the vintage market in Japan as they were. I had someone tell me the other week there were a lot of bargains compared to how US prices are at present.

Thinking and talking about the 4005 always makes me wonder if the Rickenbacker company would recognize the value in starting up the 4005 line again. Would Rickenbacker turn a blind eye to a poll that showed the amount of interest in the model?

We've already tried that one Chris. I think we were up to about 35-40 pieces from forum members. Way short of any sort of number Rickenbacker would consider. JH feels the global market is too small at present, to warrant tooling costs etc.

I would make the "mommy" comment....but I don't want to drive the price up...

It has a bound slash too...How many 4005's have that?

I believe all of them had either a bound slash or double binding, the ones that are double bound usually don't have a bound slash and vise versa

I think that I bought that one back in '99 for $1800. I sold it about a year later for $2500. ;>o
