Ok, what does everyone think the 75th anniversary offering will be ?? We're getting down to the nitty gritty here.

1. 4005 re-issue ? nah, I think thats been long shot down, they'd be cool, but I dont think so.

2. 4001 V68 ? Hmmm.

3. 4003 VP Checker Binding ? Could be easily done.

4. Re-vamped 4004 series, bringing back the 1st generation model, (somewhat modernized w/bubinga fingerboard), a re-vamped 5 string and a new 8-string version ? My personal favorite idea.

5. A completely new model, 'ala the "Dumpster bass" ? Possible, we may have seen the prototype.

6. a 4002 for the 21st century? Kinda curious a "pallet" of them recently surfaced, huh ??

7. Expansion to eliminate backlogged orders ? Sounds like a good idea for the long term , but you just cant double your space and production associates then immediatley produce quality Rickenbackers can you ??

8. A custom shop ?? With the standing backlog of orders ? nah. We alone would keep them busy for years.

Did I leave anything out ? This is just a collection of the items we all constantly mull over, and a few of my personal comments.

What does everyone think ??

Sorry if I offended you 6 stringers out there, but Im strictly a bass guitarist.

Oooohhh good idea!

1. Not gonna happen. As simple as that.

2. Maybe.. but not likely.

3. Sounds reasonable.

4. I like.. but not bloody likely.

5. I doubt it.

6. Sounds kewl.. but only use forum guys would probably want one.. and that's not enough.

7. good idea.. but quality would suffer.

8. I'm sorry... But that'll take years!

Sorry to destroy your list.. I like all the ideas.. but they'd probably not happen.

I certainly would order a v68 (or two) but I'd rather see a look to the future and some completely new models. The next evolution beyond the 4004.

A "proper" 4004Cii/5 and 4004Cii/8 would certainly be nice to see next year.....with the Cii/8 being a little further in the future.

If I had to wager I'd guess that a v68 is my leading contender for "most likely" but I'm hoping for something completely fresh to welcome in the next 75 years.

Whoa you just blew my mind with that list!

I have a bass for a Mr. Crisman just about ready to ship...

My armchair quarterback vote goes the way of the 68 or maybe the Rose Morris models. Either one would cause financial turmoil in my house.

It'll be a white Deluxe 4003 with Checkered Binding and Star inlays a la LK, with 75th Anniversary logo adorning the pickguard, a la CS.

1000 units.

Lovely, slim graphite reinforced necks (surely the basic design is out of patent by now? or licensable). On a Va-Va V-RooM 1999. Charge what you like, Mr Hall, I'll be jostling for first in the queue.

I think JH has said that they DO have plenty of room already....maybe to double or triple output? Getting people trained would be the issue....

...but when he mentioned at one time that we were thinking too small or not big enough....well that would be MY guess....that they'd try to eliminate the backlog of orders?

That...or a V68 Image

I'm pretty sure there won't be a 75th anniversary model, but I think Henny is sort of close, on to one possible feature.
