We have on left a custom shop reissue of the 59, to the right is an all original 61 slab board

The 59 is a nice repro. I love the features, and the sound is bright. Action is a bit high, but I'm sure it can be adjusted.

The 61 however, is beyond compare. Tone monster would be a severe understatement. The bass had to grow on me, now you'd be hard pressed to rip it out of my hands. The action, the sound, the mojo, it's all there. It's one of Leo's best.

Mike, when it comes to working weith the photos, I have no clue.

I did downloan a program from Goggle for free called Picasa and it is pretty user friendly for sizing, croping etc...

Jeff, nice basses! How's the spacing on those necks? Never played a mighty mite.

mighty mite makes nice p-bass necks ... they come sealed but not finished ... so I give them a tung oil finish to protect the wood ... without finishing sealed necks can sometime go s curve ... but the mighty mite necks have a nice profile ... pretty similar to a fender p-bass neck ... and it makes a good 5 string neck ... narrow enough at the nut for fast playing and wide enough at the heel for finger playing ... they are not as good as warmoth, but they cost less ...
