Sorry MARC patrons....we've beaten you to the punch! Today Howard Bishop, Greg Rahilly and I donned our Rickenbacker Forum T-Shirts, armed ourselves with Rickenbacker guitars (and a drink or two) and spent the afternoon playing and discussing all things Rick related.
Last time Howard and I got together we had four Rickenbackers. Today we had 18 including Greg's 360. Three of mine are missing in action and couldn't be present.
Howard is with me as we write this post together....we hope you all enjoy the photos!

Thanks for inviting us overseas folks!
According to international confluence rules, since we didn't get an invite this time, you must subsidize 12-20 forum members and provide safe passage for their equipment for the next date.

One of the reasons Howard, Greg and I met today was to get serious about putting together a proper open-to-all-forum members Rickenbacker Confluence in Melbourne, Australia sometime during 2006.
We would absolutely welcome any overseas forum members of course! Obviously bringing out your Rickenbacker collection might be difficult, but you might co-ordinate a Confluence visit with that "trip to Australia you've always wanted to do".
John Hall even has his pilot's license - maybe he could fly everyone out here?! What a 75th Anniversary treat that would make!
Seriously folks, if any forum member in Australia or overseas would be interested in getting together, please express your interest now so that Howard, Greg and I can determine size of venue, timing etc.
Marc, as the holder of the lucky golden ticket you will be the first person to be let through the gates!

Our legal consultants (Martin, Barton & Fargo) will be in touch regarding said "confluence rules", Marc!! I assured them that you would have a copy............

As Darren has stated, we are really keen to put something together for 2006. The first half of the year would probably suit, given the possibilty of RIC 75th celebrations in August/September (and I'll be over your way then anyway!!)
Expressions of interest, suggestions, early apologies, 'where do I sleep' type stuff welcome!!

Kevin, Right next door to the left handed shovel store! LOL!
Howard, great shots mate.
Peter...yes, fireglo is very popular here too. My wife was impressed by Howard's Turquoise 620 though.

(jealousy has worn off now)
Nice job guys! Look forward to hearing about the next confluence, which will hopefully bridge the gap until the WORLDWIDE event takes place...
