Check out "The Last DJ" (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and "Hard Candy" (Counting Crows) for some of the best Rick 12 string sounds I have heard in awhile.

I particularly like "Hard Candy." The 12 string opens the tune (left channel) and establishes the hook. It's really fresh...yet familiar sounding; sort of like watching a movie and hearing a song you have not listened to in a decade or so and thinking, "Hmm. That sounds familiar. Who is that? Do I have this song? Cool tune."

Hey Jeff -

Oddly enough, I picked up The Last DJ this afternoon. Nothing on it blew me away but it was very pleasing to listen to.

Browsed your collection, thought I'd share. My images aren't as large as yours (I reduced them in size prior to posting). I like doing composites - so I think my tele composition and my RIC comp are among my favorites. I have some really nice close-up shots of the flamey grain on the LP and the orange 6120 back.

BTW - I have a break in my linked set so if you go in at the top of the list, my "next" button won't get you to every image - I think it skips the Ric's and the tele's but they can be viewed from the links in the list.

It's a couple of years old now but check out "Coming Around" by Travis. The song is heavy on the 12-string jangle (and the video shows their guitarist playing a 620/12). The solo in the middle is also done on the 12.

I like the 12 string on "The Summer I Read Collette" from Roseanne Cash's "Ten Song Demo" from the mid '90's. I thought McGuinn was making a cameo when I first heard it. It's actually John Leventhal her husband and producer.
