Wow... that's old. I'd be happy if I had $25!

Now, that's impressive...

I tend to agree you might not find another like it...

$25K. Let's see if it moves..

That's got to be on the high side, surely? Mint or not...with some celebrity cachet, maybe.

if I had $25,000 of extra money laying around I wouldn't spend it on an overpriced bass with a weak neck and weak pickups ... hell you can buy 21 brand new 4003 basses and have some bucks left over ...

Hahahahah! Good point. I'd probably buy just 15 4003 basses and then use the rest for the mods I want done. The hipshot bridges, M4 tuners.. stuff like that.

My '63 cost about a third of that 2 years ago. That '64 is a pretty bass but priced a bit high. Here is a shot of my beauty.

What's the oblong mark on the headstock crest of the $25k bass?

Dunno, could be finish damage or a sticker.

Thanks Ted.

Love the Fireglo on your 63. Looks real vibrant, yet with that mellowed patina. Fantastic bass...

It looks like an original sticker on that 64. I wonder if that comes with it!

I have a thing for old Ricks. Jeff Rath is right about all of their frailties and faults but there is still something special about them. They make such sweet sounds and those wide, thin necks! The first time I saw mine in person, I was blown away by how clean it is.

Really, they shipped with stickers back then? I never heard that before.
