Well, in the past 2 days I received emails for possible sales on a 68 mint 4001, and even better
an original owner mint all original maple 4002 with OHSC.
Can you freakin believe that?
I am absolutely ecstatic.
This time, if I am lucky enough to buy it, the bass will be resting with me in my grave.
I hope I just didn't jinks myself.
If the price is out of my league, I will be sure to pass the lead on.
Wish me luck. Image Image Image

I don't have it yet Dave.
I called the guy today, and he wasn't exactly pleased I called, but he had his number listed in the email message and we spoke for a few minutes. Anyway, he hasn't played in years, and the bass has been sitting in his basement for just as long. He is still undecided because this was his first bass he ever bought.
We shall see what happens.
Oh, the bass resides in Kansas, purchased in Oklahoma in 1978. The serial number dates it to Oct. 1975. I did not know 4002's where produced that early.
Has anyone heard of a 4002 made this early?
John?
