Well, you're all in for it now...I figured out how to use my new scanner.

Therefore, I'm starting this thread to display pictures of my favorite car, and I hope you'll all do the same. Since I'm making the rules for this one, it doesn't have to be one that you currently own...just your favorite of your historical inventory. (I look forward to many amazing entries...)

The car pictured below is one that I owned for three years ('90 through '92) and kept in New Zealand, where I got to drive it a couple months out of the year during my 'stopovers'. British forumites will need no introduction, but for others, this is a 1952 Ford Prefect. An eight HP engine (that is not a typo) and three forward gears ('First', 'Second' and 'Top') propelled this baby to speeds of over 35 mph. It's unique tranverse leaf-spring rear suspension (similar to that of a stagecoach) earned Prefects the nickname 'Rollies', as this is what they tended to do when cornering too 'fast'...

I sure loved 'er, though...she was just my speed...you might say: Prefect for me...

Oh yeah...just to prove I ain't lyin'...

Wish I had a picture of my favorite vehicle. It was a '79 Chevy ElCamino. Had a 305 V8. Not that that was a huge engine, but for a 16 year old it beat the **** out of a lot of early 90's Grand Prix's and whatever else kids my age were driving at the time. My grandfather bought it new in '79. It was the SS package with the phoenix decal on the hood, honeycomb hubcaps, and the front air spoiler. Wow was she a runner. I put headers and dual exhausts on her. In addition to the air shocks in the rear, it was a mean looking machine.

Too bad I just sold it, but I'm building another one...

Interesting Ford! I like how the windshield opens up. Is that for air intake, or an escape hatch? As for my favorite car, I wish I had either one of these: or

The first picture is of a Buick Grand National, and the other is a Buick Skylark GS. As well as being a fan of Buick, there are far too many other cars I wish to own. Too many cars, too little money!

My '67 Mercury Cougar GT (390/4spd). I sold it a few years ago......I just got a little burnt on the restoration.



.....you did say "rides" so I'll throw in my 2 wheeled version as well. My '03 HD Fatboy.......nothing special but it suits my needs well.

Howard...that could be a pack of darts...I'm pretty sure there was a 'slab' of Dominion Bitter in the 'boot' as well. As for the plastic film canister on the roof in the head-on shot...believe it or not, I think I was carrying film in it that day...

Ok, I'll offer up these.

My absolute favorite is this 1967 Marcos 3 litre (red) with the Ford Cosworth 3L 6 cylinder motor and plywood chassis.


The silver car is the new Marcos TSO GT2 which I am biased towards 'cuz my cousin owns Marcos Engineering. 450HP Corvette LS7 powered with a tube chassis.


The last one is my third fav, a 1968 Daimler 260, 2.4L Hemi V8. The most awesome sounding sports car ever.

Well, some of you just know what I'm gonna post...

It's my miniWOODIE, which was one of 26 that I designed and built between 1975 and 1978. This was the Chicago auto show car, built in December '77, and rebuilt several times since, most recently in Brasil.

The car was being towed back from my house in Charlottesville, VA, to SoCal in '88 when it flipped on a patch of black ice in Dogpatch, Arkansas. The tow vehicle was totalled (new Isuzu Trooper) but MW26 suffered a dented fender and was driven away.

It was restored in light green featured on TV, and in about 25 books and over 100 magazines, then it was lent to my stepson to drive at college.

It returned in sad shape and was completely rebuilt in Brasil in 2002, this time over a Brasilian Fusca (1976 with 28K miles!).

So here's how it looks today:

Then there was the Sunbeam, handbuilt over a 13 year period with a tan leather interior, supercharged 3L V6, nitrous oxide, shelby rear end, handmade dash and console, etc. etc., etc. The only parts of the car that were not massaged or upgraded were the headlight and taillight lenses...

Then there is the Maserati, currently a driveway queen (7 MPG, that's why...)

Then there's the.... and the...

I was deeply into vintage cars--62 since '72, when I got deeply into Ricks instead. But my small cottage now is already shrinking.

I cannot believe I am doing this, but here I am with my car more than a few years ago.

Can you identify the make and model of this car. Extra points if you can tell me the colour of the finish.

Of course it;s a Spitfire 1500.

Of course the best colour for a Spitfire would be British Racing Green.....
