Man, either the pictures are ******, or the BBR looks bad on that bass. Chris P. was telling me that RIC figured out the BBR technique, and got it down to really looking good without much maple showing. Heck, I prefer more maple showing in the burst. Now they look almost like midnight blue. I'm sure they look much nicer in person, but the last couple I have seen are too dark.

Bob, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the pics are just bad.

I'm more interested in seeing a 4004L or Cii....I think it will look better without the pickguard.

Not because I'm biased or anything, but...
Those pics are god awful. The way this bass was photographed makes the bass look like what it looks like after two coats of paint in production.
If you see one in the flesh they look nothing like Minight Blue. Nor do they look like the Tranny Blue we stain the 4004Cii's. Guess the camera can't catch the subtle variation between the edge of the instrument and the middle of it very well.
I'll admit, sometimes our painters can't either, but they have this color down.

Cool! It took almost a year, but it's growing on me. I may have to order a 4004Cii BBR. Maybe the humbuckers will ease the pain of no longer owning a 4002.

Im torn here, I want a 4003BBR, but Im not made of money. I'd hate to order one, then have RIC come out in 2006 with something really fabulous, and regret not waiting.
But on the other hand, I'd hate to miss the boat on the Blueburst's also.

Scott, I feel the same way. You can always buy one now, and if in 2006 RIC does something really sweet, you take your least favorite ric, and sell it.
Or, you wait and but one next year.
Look at how many monty browns are still available.
I think PM Blues, must have a half dozen or so still for sale.

Yeah, I know. I just wish we had an idea of what may be in store for us if anything.
maybe they'll go back to the beginning for the anniversary, and re-issue the original 4000 model.
I'd have to have one. I really like the single pup design.

Here's a hint...
No new (or old for that matter) bass models will you see.
