4004 Lemmy;;; chicken or the egg
Here are some photo’s of Lemmy’s current basses that he uses. Obviously, since he has a newly modified Ric, someone does the work for him, other than Ric, (I think).
My question is, (since I'm about to go broke buying a couple of these things) is..
Was the walnut LK modified by Lemmy and then Ric built a replica of it??
Was is not even a Ric, and was it custom built from the ground up?
Did Ric make it and then present it to him??
If so, who’s idea was it for the carvings?
What’s up with this new one?
It’s not a 4003 or a 4004.

If I remember correctly, he used both when I saw him in 2000 but only the LK in 2003.

I would find it hard to believe that Ric would issue a signature model based on a modified Rickenbacker copy.
I'm sure Mr. Hall could shed further light on the development of this particular model if he has the time......If he doesn't respond sometime this week drop him an email.

I saw an old clip where he and his band performed on the David Letterman show. They were covering a Chuck Berry tune and promoting their album "Motorhead." Question is this: His band HAD another bass player besides him, and he seemed to be more of a "rhythm guitarist/bassist" player. Since I have never seen him live or any other video, just wondering. He seemed to be playing one or two chords over and over and not picking notes. Is that usual?
