Anyone watch this on A&E? He did a few new songs (new to me anyway) in this performance: Penny Lane, I've Got a Feeling, and Flaming Pie. I loved it. I prefer his Rick, but the Hofner really sounded good.

Uh, it wasn't on TV here (or was it?), albeit his concert at Red Square in Moscow (failed to get there, shame on me) was on TV a coupla years ago, and it was unbelievable! Eh... wait a minute... are you talking about the show in St. Petersburg, Russia? If you aren't, then this comment of mine is totally out of place, and i'm sorry...

Yes, St. Petersburg, Russia. There was a advertisement for the Red Square DVD, which contains this show as well. The St. Petersburg show on A&E lasted an hour and not one piano song was played.

People who attended both shows generally say that the one in Moscow was a whole lot better. Paul McCartney singing "Back in USSR" at Red Square - oh, it was an unbelievable excitement! The only "questionable" thing is... i don't really know what's on the DVD, it may contain the whole movie, not the concert only.

I have the Red Square DVD and it has both concerts, at least parts of both concerts, but there is an awful lot of typical McCartney **** on it; Paul and hot trophy wife Heather visit a music school, Paul and hot trophy wife Heather visit Vladimir Putin and ask him to ban landmines. Paul and hot trophy wife Heather do this. Paul and hot trophy wife Heather do that.

The other stuff is a laugher, too; some sociologist dork who gives the Beatles credit for the fall of Communism gets a fair amount of air time and then those USSR rock and roll guys we've talked about; Time Machine, Aquarium, whatever talk about buying Beatles records on the black market.

I did like the Defense Minister admitting he was a big Beatles fan and confessing he went out and bought all the Beatles records the day they were made available legally.

There is a cool version of Helter Skelter on that DVD though.

Yep, exactly the stuff i was talking about, Alan. All Russians love their dear president (also mind that this 'movie' was used for his election campaign)... It's all so much fun for those who live (or lived) in former USSR/Russia. Artemiy Troizky and Vasya Vasin were there, too, or am i wrong? Duh. My dad said he was laughing all the way through. I wish they had deleted this 'movie' stuff from DVD. I'd have bought it then. Songs are really cool. The only thing that has really p***ed me off is that when Paul was singing Yesterday, i believe, everybody stood up... uh, everybody 'xcept mr President and Moscow mayor. Now have to stop talking politics in order not to hurt anyone. Okay, no problem, turn my head off TV and listen to the music.

I guess the President and the Mayor shoulda stood up for "Helter Skelter"...
