Seafoam Green Revisited

J. Butera kindly made this Seafoam Green 340 available on the net. So what do you think of Rickenbacker bringing back this color? It is certainly reminiscent of days gone by. I thought I would post it here to give myself a chance to get used to it. My preference would be for a darker green or the lighter greenburst. This is, however, unique and I wonder how many were made. Does anyone know when the color appeared in the RIC lineup for the first time? Sometimes it isn't easy being green.

I sure like the look of it .The only thing that I don't like is the controls and their functions.I think it's time to re-assess the 3 pickup guitars and modernize them.come up with something different.
It could be really interesting and there are plenty of good audible options.

And I am liking it more everytime I see it. I will soon have to amend my original post. I modified the wiring of my 350 and used the fifth knob to control the volume of the middle pickup. The resulting variations in tone are well worth the trouble in my view. So now I can have any combination of pickups I wish. The downside, for the collector, is that it is a modification. RIC can't win here really. If they come out with a brand new wiring they have broken a longstanding tradition and if they leave it they way it is then there is little point in having a middle pickup. So my view is modify it to have the best flexibility and sound available and forget about the old days. The vintage sound is still there with the same great looking three pickups.
