Well,

I must have a thing for double bound Jet Glo Rickenbacker guitars. I have been stalking this baby on e-bay for the past 7 days. No one else seemed interested so I just had to rescue it from further abuse. I was the only bidder.

A new set of guards and a bit of rewiring to get her back to stock condition will do the job. I am not going to complain about the price though. $800.00 USD plus shipping.



Here is what the previous owner did to it in his own words.

"This is a Rickenbacker 360WBV64 1995, jetglo,double bound,two toasters,all vintage appointments. The pick guard is carved out for the synth,I will send that also because I don;t use it,I paid a thousand for the roland synth, they are about 600 now.I had an active pre amp put in it,and with several effects including a phase switch. One setting gives the guitar a funky PRS type sound,The other one boost the pickups 3 times and there are five effects on each of those settings.Or you can plug into the second jack and get the original vintage sound"

I plan to bring her back to as close to original condition as possible. I must have this "thing" for Rics really bad.

Brian, Well done...you've picked up a nice guitar at a great price. I reckon it would look superb with a set of gold guards and a gold TRC. Good on you.

Hey, Brian, congrats! I had it on my E-Snipe account until the last second and then I bailed, because something else is in the works. The only damage seems to be the guards, and he's not drilled any holes in the body itself. An excellent buy!

Now, don't forget the Scratch-X to bring her back up to snuff. And if you need a new set of guards, let me know.

I am sure others were watching as well but I found it strange that no one else bid on it. It must have been my lucky day. Good luck on the other "something else".

I'm seriously thinking about gold guards Paul. Can you do the TRC in gold as well if I send it (the original TRC) to you after I receive the guitar?

BTW thanks Darren, we seem to be thinking alike on the guards.

Brian, I can do the guards, but the TRC will have to come through RIC, and the only gold ones they have are to fit the 325C58 and the 660/6. Talk to Kenny; I hope he can help you!

Pics and a resto pictorial when it arrives. It will be the centerpiece of my small Rick collection. But what a centerpiece!

In my case it was "Oh Sh*t" here we go again! "Enter your bid" "Push the damn button!"

Well you get the picture. I managed to bid even though I was in a bit of a fog of disbelief.

Momentary lapse of reason sounds about right.

Hopefully this guitar is in fairly good condition. It is so hard to tell from the photographs.

Good one, Brian! I had seen this one posted, but decided not to go for it because of the restoration work required - I just don't have time right now to take on a project like that.
