I posted this over in the "For Sale" section. This thing is my ultimate dream bass, and I would buy it instantly if I had the money. I want someone on this forum to get it at least, if I can't. Sorry if you've got your eye on this already . . . if someone wants this quiet just tell me and I'll remove the post.

This may be a stupid question but...how is the SUSTAIN on the "S" model?

I have heard that SET necks have less sustain than the neck through models, is that true?

Probably not on this model, I'm not sure though.
My 4001 has a neck trough design, but since the neck pickup cavity (1/2" spacing) is routed so deep, I don't think it makes a difference anymore if it was set or through.
The set neck with the 1" spacing probably even is a stronger design. (I could be wrong of course)
Maybe Paul shows us the broken up v63 that was on e-bay a while ago.

I just want to make sure that the Emperor doesn't get this guy. It's too good for that.

My set neck has better sustain than any of the 4001 or threes that i have had .sustain for days in fact . Also the setneck is in my opinion just as sound structurally as the neck thru
